‘Gamers!‘ was one of the anime that enlivened the summer of 2017 in the romantic comedy genre. What is the plotline of the anime?
The name of our main character is Amano Keita. Keita, a sophomore high school student, has only one love: playing games. Plays games from all platforms such as mobile games, consoles, PC. His favorites are RPGs and romantic-themed visual novel games. The lady of the series is Tendo Karen, the most popular school student, with her elite demeanor and high grades. Karen’s greatest passion is playing games too. She even managed to re-establish the school play club and became three people, including himself.
One day, Karen approaches Keita. Everyone is surprised by this situation because the school’s favorite girl speaks to the nerdy Keita. Karen invites him to the game club. Keita gets excited but decides not to join after seeing the club. The reason is that the club members compete with each other instead of enjoying themselves. ‘Gamers!‘ was released as a single season in the summer of 2017. Over the past more than four years, as of June 13, 2022, at the time of writing there has not been any confirmation for the second season. The animation studio Pine Jam or any related company has not renewed the anime for a second season. The light novel that the anime was adapted to was written by Sekina Aoi and illustrated by Saboten. The light novel series published by Fujimi Shobo started broadcasting in 2015. This light novel, published in 12 volumes in total, was completed on 19 October 2019. The fact that it is not running anymore limits the number of seasons we are likely to see in the future.
