The anime was created by the Ekachi Epilka studio, which we haven’t seen much of before. The studio has only one product before which is Crossing Time, a manga adaptation. The anime’s first season consisted of 12 episodes and was broadcast from July 4, 2019, to September 19, 2019. We haven’t watched a new episode for over a year. Demon Lord, Retry! Season 2 Plotline
Main Plot: Oono Akira is an ordinary person working for an online gaming company. He often plays the character of the Dark Lord. However, when he opens the game one day, he enters the game’s fantasy world as the Dark Lord. There he meets a one-legged girl, and they start their journey together. But some nations and saints are trying to destroy the mighty Dark Lord. Wherever they go, they get in trouble.
Season 2 Plot: There was only one question in the minds of those who finished the first season of the anime. Is it over? Because the first season of the series felt unfinished. The lack of war and enemies in the last episodes makes us think that a great preparation was left for the second season. Will he be able to reach out to the angels and advance their business? Our demon king is both strong and wise. As in some anime, the main character is not weak, making the audience happy. We expect to see more war scenes in the second season.
Will there be a second season of ‘Demon Lord, Retry!’?
At the time of writing, the anime has not yet been renewed for a second season. Studio Ekachi Epilka or Funimation did not leak that there is whether work for the series’s second season. For some reason, it can take years to update anime for a new season. So, could there be a new season of the series? We can make some predictions on this issue. Our parameters are the manga status and the popularity of the first season of the series.
Manga (Light Novel) status of the anime
Demon Lord, Retry!’s anime is adapted from a written source. As we mentioned at the beginning of the article, the main story is based on the novel series written by Kurone Kanzaki. The light novel series, which started to be published by Futabasha in July 2017, is still ongoing. The continuing light novel is good news as it provides the source material for the anime. The series currently consists of 6 volumes in total and the last volume was released on August 31, 2020. J-Novel Club publishes the light novel series in English.
Anime covers the first two volumes of the light novel series. The good news is that with a simple proportionality calculation, there is enough resource material for at least two seasons. It is possible to see the second and third seasons of the series in theory. Manga proficiency is very important, but not a sufficient criterion on its own.
Popularity and other factors
There are enough resources for the second season of the series, but not everything is great at the stage of popularity. Anime’s popularity score is 65.1%, as indicated on the anime page, where we can see other popularity scores. This score is average and, however, not insufficient for the second season.
The studio does not appear to have any work for the next 2021. It is a fairly new anime studio, and we cannot guarantee the new season.
When is the release date of ‘Demon Lord, Retry!’?
Although the series has not yet been approved for the second season, there is no obstacle for a new season. The manga of the series also provides sufficient resources. The anime of the series was announced in 2018 and was on the screens in the summer of 2019. The average production period can be considered as one year. Although Blu-Ray sales are below average, the series may be on the screen with a new season in 2021 if the creators and publisher renew it.
Until the series is renewed, we would like to recommend an anime similar to this series. Its reviews are better in many ways, and if you like this series, you shouldn’t miss it. The name of the recommended anime is Overlord (2015).
